------------------ I don't see anything under the hood that looks like a place for a rod to be fastened. Maybe mine flew off..smiles This message has been edited by Gort on 05-18-2013 at 01:19 PM other years dont use it other years dont use it http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/002173.html Found a link showing the rare hood prop. ------------------ This message has been edited by catfish on 05-20-2013 at 10:22 AM www.liftsupportsdepot.com Also, Part# 4032 are not hood support lifts from LST in Canada... #4032 struts are made by Arvin-Meritor and are OEM quality, made for Mopar and nearly 'all' of the auto parts stores [Carquest/NAPA/Advanced/Pep Boys/etc etc] and many times have stamped a different trade/company logo on the plastic sleeve containing them.. [StrongArm, etc] Be assured, they are far from LST quality struts, and you'll be lucky to get **2/3 years of use out of them. **Maybe longer service if you never open your hood Have a good one and enjoy life. Anyway, I probably won't ever have a warranty claim since they work so great. S/S LST struts were around $140 or $150, as I recall. these are the ones I have: Apparently, if you have a leaking cylinder, they can recharge them at a fraction of the original cost. They also have trunk, trailer and weekender supports This message has been edited by beachcat on 05-21-2013 at 07:09 AM Gort I must not have one. I don't see a prop rod. The hood stays open by use of the hood shocks. The manual doesn't mention a hood prop. Is this something that was a afterthought? Photos please. Terry My Yellow 1999 has a hood prop, but I have seen a 1999 without prop (struts only) catfish my 99 has a prop rod,no photos.prop rod storage clip and 2 screws where it bolts to hood.part# rod 4815796ac--clip is-j4007456. George Johnson Mine is a 2001 but I changed out to LST Hood Supports and do not need a prop rod. Have had the Prowler in several car shows with hood up and the wind has never blown it down. DHansen I just installed LST lifts today. What a difference. derosaj Being on lift supports I have a good vender story that I experienced last week. Six years ago I purchased a set of hood supports from LSD (Lift Supports Depot) with a life time guarantee. They gave out so I called LSD and they were very polite and asked for my name. To my surprise they had my info from 6 years ago. No problem was their answer. That was 5:30 PM (EST) on Thursday and the new supports were in my hand on Saturday morning. Now I call that good service. They also said that the reason most lift supports give out is from not using them.

I would disagree with that statement....most fail due to leak in the piston rod seal. I would agree that many owners don't know they have failed due to lack of use, opening their hoods. Hell,,,we've had some owners who didn't even know 'how to open' their hood
I will say $30+ ship is a great price for a pair of them.
Also, if they replaced them free after six years, that is a reputable company to do business with.beachcat I seem to remember paying over $100 for the LSTs derosaj Just thought I would write something positive about a good vender that treated a member with respect and was happy to make a customer happy. Quite different from the things you hear about lately. Guess it was my lucky day.
I might suggest that you go to their website and read their warranty terms.beachcat That's great to know. I have LSTs and love them. I would have trouble finding my bill of sale though. ALLEY CAT I think LST struts were around $100 per pair, but have a better seal and more pressure within > thats why they open the hood much higher than OEM's. beachcat OK I was is confused between LST and LSD.
http://www.lstechnologies.ca/customauto.html PROWLAW Ive kept a piece of wood in the trunk for years that works perfectly well as a hood prop! idive Prop rods were only on 97's and the early 99's. All hoods have a holes for the clip and prop rod mount. You would also need to swap out your radiator cover for one with as prop rod hole or drill it yourself. They are not cheap. The hole for the retaining clip is under the insulation. You could locate it and punch a hole in the insulation to install it. The prop rods do not come with the mounting hardware.
